This looks like you might have tried your high contrast post processing again, making the boats look extraordinarily sharp against the background. A great image, Nigel. I especially like the blue and red touches among the layers of earth tones.
I bet you, Jan and Patti rented those boats and went racing in them. I wonder who won. LOL. This is really nice. I like the shot not only for the lines and the colors, but for it's artistic value. Great composition, Nigel.

heheh, we could have rented a boat, lol, that would have been fun. i like this its nice and simple and i like the treatment you gave it , sort of looks glowy and dreamy, i wanna know how you get the background so soft and the main thing in focus too!
As Patti says uneven numbers work well in pictures. As you know, Nigel, I'm a very keen cook and it's the same in cooking. The presentation of food is always better if served in odd numbers.
Bad Joke Warning
"Boat number 9, your time is up."
"Can you hear me boat number 9?"
"Are you all right boat number 6?"

The truth is, you really should see My Gallery.
What's neat about this image is that the boats are all quite similar, yet they are distinctly different. I love the composition and three is always a good choice for subject.
I like the saturation levels and the slight glow (soft focus) across the image. Nice framing. I'm not too far away from Rutland water. Done quite alot of birdwatching there. Can be a very bleak or beautiful area to visit, weather depending.
What has the number 42 boat done to you eh!...
Excellent post mate
