The following is said with both my feet firmly planted where they are usually found ... and not having been there ...
Almost ... almost, that is ... or perhaps, more curious? ... as to what the visual impact would be if you reversed the areas in terms of size and where the light is hitting?
In short, this time ... bringing down the shell a tad?
That said, I really like this image/photo from you.
'Artistic' readily comes to mind as a descriptor. And you handled the technical side very well.
Annnd ... but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)
p.s. Took this one in some more, as it deserves ... and I believe you made a judicious choice, compositionally speaking.
The lighted area is well balanced with that of the shadowed. And my first impressions of being a tad top heavy with the placement of the shell as you have presented it to us ... is indeed nicely counter-balanced by the lighted section. Which, has enough texture and visual interest to hold it's own.
Your capture is fabulous Nigel. I really like the angle in which you took this, it has great textures, colours and colours. Wonderful composition & love all the different colours in the sand grains. Bravo
Nice capture of where things washed ashore with the tide meet. Ever changing in both composition and texturing. What I don't see and you allude to, is almost a beautiful as what I see.
No certain sameness here.
This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By.
Thanks For Sharing ! Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
Nigel, I really liked your progression of color from the upper left as it proceeded to the lower right. I like the use of color in composition and your presentation is an excellent example.
What I like a lot about your work are your images with the great depth. You have more of them and I think you are a master in it! And now you've posted this close up picture...and I do like it a lot too Nigel. Good colours, good clarity.. high quality. So thanks for your 'different view'! Have a great weekend.. Mich
The essence of the English seashore in a glimpse. An interesting image Nigel full of contrasting light and textures. However, the image that it puts in my mind is you out with your little bucket and spade going through the rock-pools.
Oh I like this, NIgel. I love the kelp and the seashell. Did you place it there? or was it washed ashore that way? What a perfect layout. And the textures and colours are awesome. There is always something so soothing about gifts from the sea. Thanx so much, looking forward to your 'new' shots. Verena

There is just something about anything found on the beach like this, that makes a day more special. And then to take a photo and keep it as a wonderful memory, well, that's even nicer. This is a real ocean feelin' capture. I love the contrast of the golden shell and the dark sea kelp. And how much closer can ya get to the grains of sand. Wow... V

Great clarity, as well.
