Not sure what you'd call this. A pontoon? A pier? It's a disused structure for ships to dock at, near Cliffe on the Medway Estuary. With just a touch of HDR. Thanks to everyone for tolerating my lack of contributions on Caedes lately. The job's keeping me very busy, but I hope to be able to spend a little more time here soon.

I am not sure what it is but I bet you Cliff Clavin would give it a stab Sir Nigel. I like the slight use of FDR. I can imagine the old pier would make a nice vantage point if you didn't fall through. The slanted walkway makes a great lead in to the photo.
Good post.

Nice depth, clarity and detail and the lighting is intensified by the HDR with whole interesting scene coming together quite nicely. What an odd structure that is.

We have a pier in Scheveningen, Holland where I lived for a year.. but I never saw such beautiful sky. The light in the sky is so beautiful. Good work my friend Nigel! Mich

What an interesting structure, but I couldnt go on it, I have a wierd thing about things like that for some reason. Cant go on Llandudno pier even. Thos sunbeams are amazing, and I like the way that they are off to one side like that. Its a very nice capture indeed. x

Hi Nigel! When I got this in the VB I was amazed at the great composition of this photo. Then I clicked and it was yours! I just really think this is soooooo well put together!! The whole balance of this photo is just perfect. The colours are grand for sure. I love how you balanced the sun rays with that "other thing" at the top of the ramp. Not sure what it is. Then youj got the whole pier and the gorgeous water underneath. I have to say this is one great photo. And, Oh yah...where in heck ya been??!!! I miss you. V
