A stretch of the Mawddach river in Snowdonia, taken last weekend. This one's not going in the voting booth so I'm relying on honest comments! For those that have wondered below, I did use HDR on this.

Hey Nigel, It is great to see you posting again and so very sorry the get-together was cancelled. I was looking forward to the pics. from it.

As far as this image is concerned I think it is a beauty and worthy of the V.B. I wonder if you used some HDR treatment on it. I like the color's vivid but not overdone and the textures in this are superb. Of course I love those reflections.

Would be hard pressed to find any flaw in this scenic wonder. Seems a complete beauty with diverse textures and light. First thing that caught my eye are the two distinct shores. One full of light the other with sublime shadows. Topped off with that sky and reflections there is so much to see and ponder it holds attention for a long while. Wonderful work.

Love the comp, Nigel, and the way the trees seem to be leaning protectively towards the river. Something about the color, though, that does not seem quite natural. Whether it's the color of the sky and a variation of it reflecting in the water or just a little too much red overall. Just MHO, it really is a fine photo.

I love the HDR for this, Nigel. Excellent work. Judging from the composition, and the way the sunlight hits the golden banks, it would get a score in the eighties. Just my guess. Very nice, and I'm glad to see you posting again.

Like the others here before me I love the scene and the way you composed this photo. I also like the lighting and the contrasts in shade/sunlight of the two banks. The details are excellent too. A little bit more subdued colors would make it look even better, but that is just my humble opinion. A wonderful post!

I can tell it is HDR. Very well done by the way. The lighting on this is superb. Color is nice and not too complicated at the same time. Great captures Nigel!

That water is to die for. The rocks on both sides of the water are to die for. The sky.......just a tad too blue. The extremely bright patches of green grass on the right-out of sync with the rest of the colors. All in all, a VERY attractive image. Keep-pah!

A really fine post. Nice work on this with the HDR and all. It's a most interesting scene; kind of like in the wilderness. Momma is right about the green patch on the right I think. Wonderful reflections and great perspective too. Excellent art, Nigel.

Hi Nigel...great composition here. At first glance, this appears to be something that one would frame and hang on the wall. Upon close inspection and critiquing it, there is a patch of way too green grass in the lower right of the image. The sky is too blue to be real (to me) although the reflections are pretty cool :). The jury is out on whether there is a tad too much red in the upper right. I keep studying it..something seems a bit 'off'..there, does that help? lolol
Overall, the image is definitely eye-catching.....Glad to see you relaxing with your camera again!!
Thanks for sharing this with me :=)

What a nice shot, of course I am biased about the country side you have captured lol. As mentioned the only think I would change is that vivid green patch, but only coz it was pointed out. To be honest my eyes were drawn more down the stream itself.
