Oh wow, that's a photograph?! It actually looked like a spectacular photoshop creation... similar in style to one of my favorite digital artists Bert Monroy. Love the vivid colors and intricacies of the ironwork.

I can see why you were attracted to this scene Sir Nigel. What interesting choices of paint they chose. It has a carnival feel to it. A Merry Go Round without the horses. I just love the old phone booths. Excellent post.

That is a fine splash of bold color, Nigel. Very eyecatching. I thought they were doing away with those phone boxes. We don't have them here anymore. I always thought yours were more attractive anyway. The grill work fence is rather neat too. I like this shot. Makes me think there is one booth for men and one for women because of the difference in sizes too.

Nigel, I never been in England.. and I have to see England with my own eyes! So funny.. you all drive in your car on the wrong side of the road..why are you doing that? ; ) And the wheel.. also on the other side of the car. The colours blue, red and purple isn't that the combination to love! I do enjoy this photo so much! I think when I go to England once I don't drive in a car.. safety but I am sure gonna eat your English breakfast. Thanks for this great post! Mich

Great way to brighten up a city, love the colors! Been a whlie since I've seen any kind of phone booth, never mind the king and queen. They are a disappearing breed in the states due to the cell phone. A fine shot, Nigel. What most people take for granted in their own area can be facinating to others.

Nigel...when I saw this in the VB I was immediately taken with the colours!! And the beautiful design in the 'fence'...just fantastic. Well I never noticed the crown difference before so I learned something as well tonight. Great shot although those colours lol. Do you remember the days when you could call the operator for free, and if you dialed 16 you could get through to dial a disc, lordy I still remember when a call could cost 2p.. and the pips followedby that whirr when you pushed your coin in. Oh happy days eh.
