One from my trip to Richmond Park in London with Jan a couple of weeks ago. This is the 14-point stag that I thought was going to charge her down at one point. Jan didn't blink! I wonder what they thought of us crawling through the grass on our hands and knees trying to sneak up on them.

Mmmmn...several thoughts come to mind about that!....

A fine pic for us to feast on pal....Those stag antlers would have blessed my stick tops in a past life!...lol

Unique photography! Very beautiful photography!
I think the hardest thing to photograph animals, especially wild animals, because you can not tell them to stand on the spot and take the appropriate position for you. Here we must act very quickly to not miss the right moment. Indeed it is and all other animals.

So sharp a focus you can see the velvet texture of his antlers as well sa the lacey tips of grass. A very fine capture of this pair, Nigel!

Beautiful photo of them in the high grass. It sucks when the wind changes and then the deer can smell you when you sneak up on them.

The coloring is great on these guys. Great job.

They are camouflaged very well Sir Nigel. They probably think they are hidden. Great shot and maybe you or Dimps could tell me the truth behind the grassy knoll.
Wonderful work. Deer season opens November 14th. Now I have buck fever.

I found this first in New Images, where I tend to hang out these days due to my limited time. Just checked out your gallery and was pleased to see this fine photo there.

This is truly an excellent shot, Sir Nigel. I always
enjoy your "take" on the world.

I'm glad you and Jan are having fun!

I saw your photo on the front page of caedes today and had not seen this before. What a lovely shot of these two gorgeous animals. They appear to even look gentle, and pleased. Deer don't usually attack people. I grew up around them in South Dakota, and there are many in the Pacific NW and will graze anywhere, near homes, people etc. So I imagine you were pretty safe, altho the crawling around in the grasses might have been a bit of a bother to them! Lol....I think he would for sure protect that "dear" of his own! The colours you captured are just awesome, and seeing them so close up sure makes a person love those animals all the more. Verena
