Since I am director of a NASA Educator Resource Center, I thought I ought to put up a desktop that used some of NASA's great high resolution imagery. Hope you enjoy this-you should see it at full size. The clarity is amazing. Earth is a great place to live. Have a wonderful day.

By the way, if you want to know where I got this image - because they have lots of others that are equally as stunning - go to the Earth Observatory at http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/ This particular image came from the "Blue Marble" section. I noticed the "Visible Earth" link is down right now - but they say they'll be back up soon.
