I reworked this one - so it's a little more to my liking. I want to thank everyone who commented on the earlier piece (which I replaced with this one). The jewel is a little more opal-like, which was what I was trying to achieve.

A totally different look - I did like the other one though :) I think this has a more delicate look to it and the opal is so very reslistic.

Hello there...oh this is so beautiful. It looks like the design on a beautiful gown.One made of softest satin and then the opal stones and gold filigree...Oh Nathan this is gorgeous. I still think you ought to go in for doing these designs for major companies who need designs like yours for clothing and fancy things...I got this in the vB and of course gave you top ten...and this is gracing my desktop right now...nice work....V

Yes, it does looks very much like an opal, and I love the top and bottom border you've given the image.
