The light sort of multiplies upon itself - hence the title. Shot with the setting sun in July. The sprinklers were on and the new D70 leapt into my hands. I upsized it and then tweaked it so I could print it super large - about 4 feet wide.

fantastic!! What a great capture...the oranges and yellows are so brilliant. I am glad you printed it so large.

I really like the photo, but am less enthusiastic about the brush stroke effect, where "strokes" cut across colors -- background and flowers alike. Seems to me the brush strokes for each color of "paint" wouldn't do that in a real painting. However, I assume no one has such a program or filter.

Agreed, it is not a perfect simulation of painting. A filter (of some sort) was necessary to compensate for the considerable pixelization that occurred when I drastically increased the size of the original JPEG.

It is cold and raining cats and dogs here in Virginia. No-one is stirring in the neighborhood, not even the squirrels. This picture is a wonderful antidote to this chilly day! I figuratively drenched myself in the color. Yes, I agree about the brushstrokes... yet I think they add more to the pic than they detract. I'm going to pretend the artist laid on a thick coat of gesso with a palette knife before beginning painting!
