This is the third in a series of paintings I did for my daughter collette, she is a big admirer of Marilyn, it was done in acrylics and glazed on a 16x20 canvas.
Of the three Marilyns (and what guy really can't get enough Marilyn?) you've submitted, I think I like this one the best. It shows her in a more unguarded pose and the tousled hair that she was like any of us, not just the glamourous star that Hollywood projected. As someone who went to college for a degree in fine art and spent more easel time in my studio than anyone else there, I know exactly what it takes to put brush to gessoed canvas. Through your bio I see you're a few years older than I and am impressed that you're still able to do it (arthritis took me out of that game long ago), and do it so well, I might add.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
