Another from my Kefalonia archive. This is the exquisite Black-veined White [Aporia crataegi]. A montane species in the Med, I only saw this above 2500 feet [830m]!

A unique butterfly and the flower it's resting on is a nice counterpoint of color. Splendid capture.

Such detail! What sort of lens did you use to capture this one? This is a 10 hands down and a great addition to my personal collection, thanks!

This is such a beautiful macro of such a beautiful butterfly. I think it should have gotten at least a 99 c:index!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

This is one of the closest, most detailed Butterfly shots ever. In fact, I was so impressed, I just started a NEW slide show folder simply titled "Butterflies" so I could save this in it! You can even see every hair on it and the eye as well!
HOW,HOW, HOW did you get it ???

Great macro of this beauty. One of the "Best" butterfly captures at Caedes ... and that's saying a lot with all the marvelous butterfly images on the site. Exquisite Indeed!!
