This is the Fire Island lighthouse on the south side of Long Island New York. You can't drive to this lighthouse, the road for cars ends about 1 mile away, so if you want to get close, you must walk.
Right on ... your clarity and colors are magnificent. I might be wrong on this, but I believe Fire Island and the lighthouse were mentioned in one of Nelson DeMille's novels.
Come, my friends,
'tis not too late to seek a new world. Push off, and sitting well in order smite the sounding furrows; for my purpose holds to sail beyond the sunset, and the baths of all western stars, until I die.
Tennyson, "Ulysses"
You are right about Nelson DeMille's novels. He was born in New york City and move to Long Island as a boy, most of his novels take place on Long Island.
This viewer appreciates your efforts to get there. I like the close up view of this bold vibrant structure. Do they allow you to climb to the top? I especially enjoy the contrasting colors against that sky.
