The New Year celebrations were marked by the greatest tragedy in the history of New Year's celebrations in Rio de Janeiro. The rains that pounded the state in the passage of the year have caused landslides that resulted in more than 80 dead. This photo was taken in December 2002 at exactly the same place where now this tragedy happened - look at the people fleeing the disaster -. At that time 14 people died. Nothing has changed!. To my Brazilians brothers here is my embrace of solidarity.

A terrible tragedy Antonio. It is good you join them in their time of need. Thanks for keeping us informed. Another good reason for a journalistic/photo category.
