Travel enough and you will find that the best landscaper and the best gardener, is nature itself. Lupines (thanks Darryl) between Milford Sound and Te Anau, South Island NZ.

Nope, lilacs grow in large shrubs(bushes)...I forgot the name of these...too....but this photo is as tho the purples were drawn with pastels..just gorgeous..and yes nature is BEST...we cant usually go wrong with what it give us.
I feel like a cracker crumb on a cracker spread with grape jam
the only problem with nature as a gardener is that she suffers from clumpism (look it up) .. see, I don't have any of these in my yard yet there are SO many right here .. clumpism!
I agree with you about nature and glad 'she' provided this marvellous and rather unique view...wonderful contrast in color and landscape...nice job.:Pat.
I have never seen so many Lupines in one place. This is awe inspiring. They are all so healthy and your focus is so clear throughout the photo. Nice presentation!
You're right, Ive tried growing them, they just don't do very well. Then along comes nature with an in your face display like this. Would be a beautiful scene to paint.
Hi Cameron! I don't know how I have missed these beauties the firts time around. I must have been dozing :))
What a capture of these lush Lupines. They look so straight and there is great detail in their blooms. Mother Nature produces the best color palette of anyone I know :) You have produced the best shot of Lupine's of anybody that I know *grin*. This is going into my favorites folder as well as my screensaver slideshow. I love the color mixture. It is so soft and pastel and inviting. I want to be a kid and run thru the field of flowers!!!! Thanks for the gorgeous post :~)
This is a terrific photo of a fabulous display of lupines. When we visited New Zealand it was the end of summer and we were able to gather a few seeds from such a display. We had them for several years growing in Oregon. This picture brings back happy memories of a wonderful trip. Thank you for posting it.
This must be a gardeners delight! Forgive me for my constant use of the word "beautiful" but these are BEAUTIFUL! They look like sweet smelling lilacs, but I see they are Lupines. The greenery brings them to ones eye in a most complementary way, and than leads on to that lovely forest. This is BEYOND beautiful work - Oh, I like the framing too.
