This is a shot meant to show the reality of war. I've attempted to make it fairly realistic. However, just of the record, I didn't paint the blood on the soldier. He came like that. If you think the blood is a little to vivid, I can change it a little. Thanks for viewing. Critique is very welcomed. p.s. View at 1072x714 instead of 1280x800 (some of the picture is cut off in the later). Does anyone know how, like in the voting both for instance, to make an image Dld without cutting out the bottom of the picture?) Thks.

Not too vivid at all. Too many try to hide their heads in the sand when it comes to war. They want to curse the soldier for a fortune hunting savage, and act self-righteous at their own arm-chair opposition to fighting.
Too often they spit on the memories of those that gave their lives for our freedom, while enjoying that which they so haughtily disdain. Let us see. That we might not forget the sacrifices of our forefathers. Let us see, not hide our eyes behind our lofty laurels, but see--and remember.

Great shot! Keep it up!

The composition of this is fantastic, and the blood only serves to bring more attention to the theme of child's play meets the war zone. I love how you've left just a slice of light, it's perfect :)

If men would learn to live in peace, no one would have to die like this. The red it not too much, Paul. It is not enough. Rivers of blood have been shed to keep the U.S. safe, but from what no one ever says. Terrorism? Hardly, since they are the biggest dispensionaries of terror on the globe. Sorry, I got on my high horse. People are doing without food and shelter in America so we can shed the blood of innocents around the world for, not our freedom, for nothing. But this is not new history. It is the history of mankind. Soon it will end. Very well thought out and executed (excuse the pun) image, Paul. You are a thinker.

An interesting and thought provoking photo Paul. No problem with the vividness of the red "blood". A nice composition, I like the line of light falling across the scene.
