This is just a touch of a tease of how huge this hotel is. The porch where Rock on Red and Where the Red Rockers Grow is to the right in this front receiving area and wraps all the way around the hotel. If I am allowed to upload more than one at a time :( I'll have one more building shot and one of another feature I found inside :) PJ

What an amazing place. It is huge. I worked at "The Grand Hotel" on Mackinac (pronounced Mackinaw) Island, Michigan one summer when I was in college. It is a similar style, a little more rounded and definitely smaller. In other words this is Grander than the Grand.

My house looks something like that...the the dream I had the other night. Looks like a great place to stay. :) Oh, this could of looked pretty good with a wide angle lense...fisheye perhaps? Lol, but this is still good, since you dont have a fisheye lens.

A lovely shot this is. It looks very colonial, almost Indian in style. Reminds me yet again of those days when my home land was a little cruel to it's fellow man and kept the masses down by making them all work in oplulent surroundings like this. Not that I am that old, I just watch far too much TV lol.

Thanks for sharing

What an elegant building it is PJ! thank you for sharing your photographs of this hotel - you should sell this shot to them as it would make a great picture for their brochure - the colours are outstanding and I love that your sky is as you see it - I have such a problem with skies - however I have now purchased a polariser filter so maybe I can improve on my skies too. great job! Amazing shot of this beautifully elegant building. It looks like it should be in a movie. I like the way you've included the expanse of roadway in the foreground, it makes the hotel seem even more majestic. The angle you shot it from with the curving road draws the eye into the picture. This is great work!

This reminds me of the Grand Hotel on Macinack (pronounced Mack-in-naw) Island in Lake Huron, just off the southern tip of Michigan's upper peninsula. It's a huge place like this with similar architecture but with yellow spot color instead of the red on this place. The Grand claims that it has the longest covered porch of any hotel in the U.S. Judging by this photo and your description I'd say they're a near match.
