I would be a blind not to see a great composition and lighting on this picture. I love that subtle shadow and fill light like the king's crown, (Tulip in a Crown - maybe). Thank you P.J for sharing it.

This one is more 'artsy' in nature and more dramatic. The lighting is wonderful as is the dof.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

OOooooooooooooo. I like. The simplicity of this makes this very strong. The light heavily influences the photo and draws the viewer's eye upwards (and left because of the leaf). Background is nice and blurred and uniform leaving all attention to the flower. Only suggestion would be to have the bloom more in the light. Otherwise great job, Peej.

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings: And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not. Yet so the universe was wrought . Thought is another name for fate. Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.
