She's beautiful, and you have certainly created the feeling of courage...standing above the crowd, and facing those challenges head on. The colours are very lifting, and details perfect.
Try to detach yourself from the pressure of c:index...I never take any notice of it, but just take pleasure from good company and being able to look at the many images that personally give me pleasure. Everyone has different opinions, and we should not take it to heart, but continue with what we believe, and just let them get on with it. Someone close to me is also at this point, and it is sad to see someone discouraged by views and judgements from others...have confidence and courage..stick with it, you have a lot to offer...Jacquie

OMG, can what you say be true? Why the antipathy towards one so caring as you? This photo is absolutely brilliant and created with strong emotion it seems and I always thought that deep or strong emotions excite the creative process as it certainly has here. This is an amazing capture that far outshines many flower shots I've seen here, PJ and I don't know why you should worry. You go girl and give no credence to detractors whose art will suffer for the ill intent they bear.

Well PJ, this is really a great capture! Excellent clear, sharp and colorful image. I'm glad you posted this one, it's really nice work! Don't get discouraged by that stupid c-index. It's only a (maybe non-artistic) opinion of someone else... and we are all different with different preferences. So please stay PJ and continue with your beautiful uploads :-)

well, i gave this a 9 in the vb and i didnt know it was yours actually, the clarity of it jumps out the screen at ya! the colours are beautiful, its a different perspective to the normal flower shot, its happy and sunny and cheerful! dont ya dare leave, you are one of the people that makes this place a good place to be missus!! I try not to take too much notice of the c-index myself, its a strange fish and in my opinion not very representative of a picture's worth! Usually my own personal favourite shots of my own score rubbish, (the ones ive taken time and trouble over) and then something i stepped out of the car pointed and shot scores 91 (bangs head on desk), just know your worth here and ignore the c-index my woman, it would be a sad day if you left. and thats my opinion so i shall get off my orange box now!

You have given me a new outlook on flowers :) I really like the bright colors. The blue backgrounds makes the yellow pop out so well.

Well Pj, I would have given this a 9 because : 1. The flower is very sharp and clear. 2. It is not just a snapshot (as they say! - which means even if you snapped a very interesting subject you will get only 30 or so) 3. The colours are gorgeous. 4. This is an unusual flower.
I have had many disappointments lately with c-index but I am learning to ignore it. Have you seen the discussion under "Request for Comment" - "Great Comments - Lousy Score" in the Discussion Board? There are quite a few who dislike (hate) flower pictures - so don't count on a very high score for this one also! Don't let the voters vote you out !!! - Raj

WOW PJ its awful that you feel that way....I think all of your photos are gorgeous. I have only ever voted a a 9 or 10 for your work because I can see your ability at work. Forgive me for not logging in and to be honest its been a few weeks and I am guilty when I say I havent voted on anyone. Maybe I should started logging in to cast the well deserved vote and this is for me a 10!!!

Well, honestly, I love this shot. The composition is perfect and the colors captivating and beautiful. The sharpness is right on. Tell you what: If you get a 37 on this, I'LL quit Caedes! (although I might anyway due to MY marks) Great work, my friend :)

PJ, I have not been a member of Caedes for long but I have been viewing photo's on this site as a guest for some time. After buying a new camera and deciding to upload some of my own photo's, I started to notice some terrific photo's and in looking at the author it was repetedly someone named phasmid. You were the first one I added to my friends list so I could view all your posts. You had very kind words for me and a warm welcome to Caedes. I love your work and Caedes would not be the same without you. I only have 7 posts and already I have been disappointed with the c index but I like the photo's that I have posted and I wanted to share them. To me that is what matters, not the c-index. Friends sharing photo's with each other is something special. You need to stay and keep posting your wonderful photo's. Oh and by the way, this photo is a very good example of your excellant work. A lot of your images tread where others won't, so you might see some low scores from their lack of understanding/expertise rather than any error in judgment on your part. Keep up the GREAT work.
