oh, yes...I had song lyrics dancing in my head for titles, but driving by two of these trees fascinated me...rooted me. I've lived with maple trees for a long time but this one and her sister were show stoppers and a completely new sight for me. As we approached to take the pic, the older woman who occupied the house came out and was so happy that a photo was being taken of her "babies". She evidently has been assiduously trimming the all green leaves that come out on these during the spring for years so that this most unusual-looking leaf will predominant with the fresh, new leaves...It was beautiful..wish you could have been there to share the moment. Taken in N. Haverhill, NH..I should send her a pic ......

It almost looks like someone painted the white leaves green. Very beautiful. What a lifetime's labor that must have been for that woman.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

PJ, Great find. I bet it took the maple fairy a longgg time to paint all those leaves. This is the first one that I've seen. Nice shot, Terry

Hi PJ,
Lovely leaf, lovely story,
You absolutely must send her the picture, I know (not really (~8 8~)) she'll be very happy with it,
I think it would be good to have that one flower in sunlight (or similar) to draw greater attention to it, just an idea,
Beautifully done,

Thanks for sharing

Tim

Very nice. You'll have to photograph it again in the fall so we can see what it looks like when the leaves turn to their fall colors. Nice job.

They are very unusual and very pretty. I had a similar experience to the one you describe photographing the tree in a neighbor's yard, but my pics didn't turn out very well. This is great.
