I took my first pictures here back when I was but a wee lass. This ship has a place deep in my heart and I was fortunate enough to visit her at the Shelburne Museum again after a long absence. I'll leave a link HERE so you can read more about this remarkable last-of-her-kind vessel. For now some stats: 220 feet in length; Beam, 57.9 feet; Draft, 7 feet; capacity, 1070 persons; engine, steam, completed in 1906; Paddlewheels, two Morgan-style (feathering) 28 revs per minute. She operated as an important link and a day boat on Lake Champlain, serving ports along the New York and Vermont shores until 1953; the last commercially operating steamer on the Lake. There's lots more to know but better to experience on this lovingly preserved queen, The Ticonderoga.
