This place way up on a dirt road looked as if it had been abandoned for quite some time, but it's still hooked up to the electricity lines! The big old tree to the right is what originally pulled my eye into this photo!
very cute old crusty place, i wonder why places get abandoned. if it was mine id be living there! all that peace and quiet, so much nicer than the city!
These are absolutely my favorite kind of shots. Here we have the remnants of a life past. When survival was a daily task along with so much else. Eventually, however, nature begins to take back what was borrowed. Wonderful shot, 'Lil PJ! It's a keeper :)
PJ, can't imagine that people are still living there. They have at least to repair the roof. Your image, however, creates a certain nostalgic atmosphere! Very good work. Regards, Cornelius
If it were around here, it would be a hunting cabin that city folks had pooled their funds together and bought, so they would have a place to get away. The roof has had tin put on and there still are curtains in windows. Makes you wonder. Love the setting you chose and the composition is excellent. Framing suits the season. Great post.
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

I'm not sure if the tree is a mirror of the house or the house a mirror of the tree. They both look pretty rustic and show their age. Nice comparison with good composition and sharp detail.
Looks like a 'handy-man' special and I'm sure they got it at a good price. I'm not too sure about the indoor plumbing though. lol What a fabulous shot, PJ. It's funny how in seaching for a good subject, we are sometimes led to another as well, but the two fabulous finds in here are perfect for each other, especially in this delightful fall view. The composition is just wonderful.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Does someone lives here ? It's a ruin, but I like this kind of house, it looks abandonned and we can create strange story about it. I love your photo my friend the composition and light are fantastic. Well done.

I used to look at places like this in Vermont and wish I could buy one and fix it up and live a sweet, cosy life with a husband and a dog or a couple of cats... which is kind of what I'm doing, only on the Cape... hmmm, how did I end up here...? Sweet image, PJ. And I see why you had your eye on the tree.

I am not with gerry - I could not live anywhere witout electricity lol!
Lovely warm shades in this PJ - the framing emphasises the autumn colours but I think it would have stood well on its own without adornment.
I love the different textures and the air of isolation you have captured.

The tree isn`t the first thing that I noticed. It was the house and a fine old one.The tree I didn`t pay notice too untill after I read your commentry. It did however work into this very well because it did not distract my eye in the least and added to the photo.A Great photo!
