Shaker Sisters (Quoting from the info posted)"...used special looms to make tapes in different varieties of patterns and colors for chair seats..." utilizing checkerboard, herringbone and striped basketweave designs. We have more than one area dedicated to the history and background of the Shakers up here and each one is interesting and well worth the look.
