I think I spotted which two are alike ~ the one's to the farther left. I can recall my Grandfather wearing straw farming hats when I was a kid. He would let me try them on. Very nice detail & I like the angle you captured the hats at. Well done.

After reading the story about the Shakers by following your yesterday given link, this image has become even more interesting to me PJ. It's an artistic shot as well. Regards, Cornelius
I like the soft lighting here, easy on the eyes. sharp focus all the way around. I caught myself wondering about the lives that go under these hats. Thanks PJ
I know, it's election year and they're taking a "Straw Poll." The Amish wear these hats in the summer. I think I know which two are alike, I just don't know which one the bean is under. Is this the test where someone puts a square on a round peg? It's really a very complex post for such a simple photo. Good work PJ
My grandmother used to say, "If you want to get ahead, get a hat." I was never sure what she meant but you've got the hats here in a lovely still life that also says loads about the owners of the hats. A beautiful shot, PJ.
I tried to answer your challenge, but these hats look the same to me...I guess I had to be there. LOL Beautiful perspective and clarity on these. Lovely work. PJ. :)
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

I'm late commenting PJ and sorry for that - I'm a bit snowed under with comments. This goes to favourites and onto my desktop. I'm giving up on superlatives, so I will just say that I think you are brilliant at capturing the Shaker aesthetic. This is so simple - the vertical grain of the wood vs the swirl of the hats, the cool of the whitewash vs the warmth of the straw...just lovely. That 93 is very very well deserved my friend.

Great perspective and interesting composition. If you hadn't pointed out the 2 hats, I'm note sure I would have noticed. Love the character of the wood and hats.
