Augustus Saint Gaudens moved his family to a summer home in Cornish, NH beginning in 1885 and eventually built a retreat for not only himself, but his talented family and other artists as well.
As always, great job at finding a subject that will spark my emotions. The offering of Peace and Good will is what I feel in this image. I have to hurry up and clear my head of all rubbish so only the immediate things in my heart can breath stonger. Great shot, soft and clean. Thank you PJ! -Imua
PJ, to capture a sculpture can be very hard when there's no sufficient contrast with its background. To me resolved that problem in a magnificient way. That 's the main reason why I call this an excellent image. Regards, Cornelius

Wonderful presentation, PJ. The simple background gives this lovely sculpture first billing. I have always admired sculptors like this... I can't begin to imagine how they do it!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.
- Hermes
"The more we come in contact with animals, and observe their behaviour, the more we love them, for we see how great is their care for their young." - philosopher Immanuel Kant
Great work PJ, you made this statue even more statue-esque. The double reflections on the background, the deep brown you captured in the walls, and the graduated colour off to top left make this a very sophisticated image.
My dear friends! I hope you forgive me for not commenting and answering that much recently. Thats because of the weather situation here, that takes all my energy. I promise to do better as soon as there will be more sun again. Smile
