Paul1972 kindly consented to let me place his great pic of this Rolls/Bentley on a fantasy background. I think he's taken the original down, so I can't link it. Thanks, Paul. I love old cars and this one is certainly a beauty. I used some of the techniques I learned while making The Gathering Gloom and I also had some very helpful hints from Paul and a certain other member as well !! It's fun when things you learn help you out down the line :) :)PJ

Just great PJ. I love the clouds and rainbow in the background. I think the other just had a brick wall if I remember correctly. You really gave the classic a setting fit for a chief. I could have said King but Silver Cloud was a Micmac Chieftian. His downfall was his love of horses. He wanted all the horses in the land. He was finally done in for this sickness. You might say "horsepower" got the better of him. Great photo and rework.

Woo hoo that's a humdinger of a doozie of Roll Royce picture. That color is amazing. This picture should be on the cover of some Car Magazine. Wonderful work, PJ. I love those clouds and the rainbow.

Sometimes, you just have to admit defeat, but rise up to compete again.
That is just stunning work PJ, but one thing though, it's a BENTLEY and not a Rolls, note the 'B' on the top of the grill and the Bentley members badge on the front, if it were a Rolls Royce it would have the Spirit of Extasy winged lady on the top of the grill.......cracking stuff.

Ref Mark (sasraku's) comment - DOH!!! I took the actual picture, and yet was so busy trying to do this that and the other to it before uploading it, I didn't see the BENTLEY badge on it, and just assumed it was a ROLLS ROYCE!!! I can not believe I have made such a stupid mistake, and I am hanging my head in shame.....
As for the rework, PJ, you have made a fabulous image with your imagination and working on this, you know I love it and have my full blessing for reworking this picture. Now, I'm off to brush up on my car makes....

Perhaps this will shed some light on the situation:
The company was always underfunded and Bentley turned to millionaire Woolf Barnato for help in 1925. As part of a re-financing deal, leaving him effectively owning the company, Barnato became chairman. A great deal of Barnato's fortune was devoted to keeping Bentley afloat but the Great Depression destroyed demand for the company's expensive products, and it was finally sold to Rolls-Royce in 1931.

Having looked at other photos I took of this car, and checking on the wonderful web, I can now officially declare that it is in fact a 1965 BENTLEY S3.... I think... :-/

It really is a great car and a terrific picture. Sasraku took the words out of my mouth. There wasn't a lot to choose between Rolls and Bentleys in those days. But the way to tell them apart was the flying "B" and the Spirit of Ecstasy Flying Lady. Bentley always had more rounded lines.
