I took many photos at this spot over a two-hour period starting at about 7 pm. This one was shot at 9 pm. I loved the ambient light I got earlier, but the reflection of the light of the building in the pool is what prompted me to post this one. Thanks to Hilda for giving me the idea in the first place. Also, the tripod I was using that I left in the hotel in DC with a note pinned on it "broken" was on its last legs here, so I apologize for the less-than-clear view. Taken on the last night of our Caedes US get together. :)PJ

I'd say it's pretty darned clear despite the handicapped tripod that did it's job one last time. The building looks terrific at night and the reflection is wonderful. I'm happy to see you also captured a little duck family en parade! You are so patient! What do you suppose is going on in there on a Saturday night? lol

The night view of the Capitol is wonderful. I have been there and taken photos myself but nothing so beautiful as this. No apologies required, PJ.

I love this shot of the Capitol with a capital L. Faved of course. I especially like the silhouette of the man on horseback. The ducks add warmth to an already friendly scene. They act so respectful by swimming just on the edge of the golden light on the water. I had never been there until now. I like darker tones in photos and this one is superb. What a wonderful post PJ. You have no reason to apologize. Now some of the people who work there.....................

What a fantastic night time shot of the Capitol PJ! So crisp and sharp! The dome looks like glowing shining beacon and gives off such a mellow golden glow in the reflection pool.

Looks clear to me PJ. Nice colors and reflections. I just ordered a remote on ebay to do night shots so I wouldn't get shake while pressing the shudder. I was using the timer but that doesn't work well with fireworks shots.

Beautiful night shot of the Capitol, with just about the right amount of interest left in the sky - it's much better blue than black. Gorgeous reflections and very well focused too. And you have the patience of Jobe. Two hours in the same spot!!! Don't tell me you were locked in here too.
