Aint the universe a nifty place to be around? ^_^ It sure looks cool though. Now where on earth in the nooks and crannies of the internet do you dig these goodies up? ;)
Nobody does color quite as good as Mother Nature eh Phil? This is another beauty to add to my growing collection from you :)...I love the swirl effect that this has...once again, thanks for the work that you do to keep me educated about space ;+)
Exciting shot! It is amazing how truly small--in comparison to the vast universe--we are. This image is absolutely incredible. Off to my favs it goes. Thank you so much Phil!
'when we might begin to see original work from you again' - it's been - oooh at least 4 days since my last original post - do I have to ramp up production even more than that?
I had never seen it from that angle before. Have you tried the FITS plugin for Photoshop? It allows you to work with the original data from Hubble. If not, it might be something interesting to explore.
A fractal cannot keep up with this beauty. Images like this motivated me to study astronomy (in my spare time as it doesn't pay much). Thanks for posting it, I've been away from NASA's website for a while and didn't catch this amazing picture.
Your tax dollars in action. The Hubble is almost history but not before recording this and other deeps space objects with a resolution unattainable on earth. This also the home of supernova 2002fl, discovered 2002/03/16.
I guess there is so much out there (im a learning Physicist, by the way).
Thanks for sharing. Sam
