A CGI concept illustration of the quadruple solar system, HD 98800. NASA's Spitzer space telescope recently discovered new details about the system, which is still relatively young, at 10 million years old. One of its two pairs of stars is circled by a dusty disk, which contains materials that clump together to form planets. Spitzer’s infrared cameras detected gaps in the dust rings caused by infant planets that are growing in size and carving out lanes in the dust.
