The setting sun peeks beneath a SR-71B Blackbird, silhouetted against the orange hues of the western sky on a 1995 flight at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Centre. Two SR-71 aircraft were transferred to NASA after the U.S. Air Force program was cancelled. The NASA SR-71s were flown until the beginning of the decade before being put into flyable storage. A very striking photo but quite heavily degraded so given the usual work over with CS3 & NoiseNinja. .

I'm lost in the terminology of the aircraft, but I love the sunset with it's bright orange hues, silohuetting the aircraft. Great work. Sue

Yes, the flares were smoothed out, the noise removed, silhouette cut out and refined and sky colours balanced to create a natural range of hues.
