Anchored to a foot restraint, astronaut Scott Parazynski participates in the 7-hour plus spacewalk to install homemade ‘cuff link’ stabilizers designed to strengthen the damaged solar arrays structure and stability. Astronaut Doug Wheelock (out of shot) assisted by keeping an eye on the distance between Parazynski and the array to avoid electrocution. Once the repair was complete, flight controllers on the ground successfully completed the deployment of the array.
