It's a lovely capture with a very soft 'aura'. The composition is terrific and the lighting is great. Nice orange legs ;) Very well done Mike.

Mike, I think this is probably the best of your bird pics. The bird is nicely focused in this one. I like that the orange legs stand out against the dark water and the greenery. Just some pointers though, try to get the bird as it's coming towards you so it is facing you. And this photo seems to be a little off keel as well. (tilted that is) Was that intentional?

I love the picture, but I don't care for the angle.

Those bright orange legs really draw your eye into the scene. Nice work.

i did that with a poem too-and bought the book-lol!
i love swamp/marsh life!
the cranes are totally amazing!
can't wait to try my new camera out this summer!
gonna get some shots posted of fishing holes and the like;)
wish i had had a good camera the day we saw over 100 snowy egrets on the other side of the Illinois river-we were bank fishing that day...
