Sunset is just a few minutes away in this shot of Rattlesnake Mountain and the confluence of the Yakima and Columbia Rivers. Rattlesnake Mt. is close to 4000 ft (1219 meters) high. It is the tallest treeless Mt. in the USA.
must be seen full size, the shadows and light are amazing. The falls trees and brown/red/yellow color scheme is nice. And I couldnt think of a better backdrop, what a gorgeous area of our country.
As far as technical stuff, I think it has a little noise and a slight lack of contrast. The funny thing is tho that this works for this image, it has the old film look, which goes well with the already neutral colors.
Made my favorites (which may need some spring cleaning)
When i first saw this i thought it was a painting... this is a magnificent shot Michael... i just love the colours in this pic... and it does look fantastic on the desktop... love it...J

WOW.. if there could be a higher vote than a 10, I would definately give this one way above that.. because that's what this image is.. purely breathtaking and amazing! Great job, 10/10 and top of list in my favorites for sure. Great job, and thank you for sharing with us. It is no surprise that this image came from you, you have the majority of my favorites I do believe ;)
Dude! This rocks, the contrast of colour between the red of the leaves and the sky blue is perfect. Great original angle on this to, you didnt do the norm and frame the mounain between the trees. Good work!
This is definately one case where a primary color scheme WORKS! Usually I dont like those primary colors together, but this is beautiful. The picture is so crisp and warm but also the air seems so fresh and clean. Its very beautiful and I love the balance you got goin on there. Excellent job.
Wow..michael this has got to be one of my favorite bgs on the site..absolute amazing colors, lighting, and composition. I sure that i speak for everyone when I say thank you. :)
P.S. 10/10, into my favorites, and onto my desktop...the full sweep thats never happened before lol
If God ever took a picture of his creation, he'd probably want it to look something like this. Breathtaking. Though, I'm sure the image hardly does the real thing justice.
THIS is the most amazing photo of colours that Oscar Wilde, the poet woud worship!! I mean this is sooooooooooooooo amazing. I cant say the words...I can feel the HUSH...GOODNESS WOW!!!!!!!!!! breathless, awe inspiring, name it..its PERFECT!!
I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings:
And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill.
That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes.
We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not.
Yet so the universe was wrought .
Thought is another name for fate.
Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.
This scene begs to have a blanket spread on the ground near the river with a basket of fried chicken settin on it.. Luv the capture of the sunstreaks across the grass and against the trunks. I'm glad the leaves in the tops of the big trees are dark and don't draw any attention to themselves. What they hover over is awesome enough.
