I was at the headwaters of the Willamette River photographing the fall colors, when I stopped to check the reflections of the Broad Leafed Maple; I looked down at my feet and found this little guy. I like the hole that was left by some hungry insect. The hole adds character and interest beyond the beautiful colors.

The saturation and color gradients are amazing. The whole really does add character. I also like the soft nature of the photo. For the fact that I opened the full size 3 or 4 times, I think I'll add it to my favorites.

I find the red veins of the leaf bleeding into the green fascinating - great detail and a unique perspective to choose the leaf with the hole - good work!

How interesting! Imperfection in a near perfect setting. Well done.

This is an amazing picture! The hole does add character and interest, but even without that, the capture is outstanding for color, comp and lighting. I'm glad you decided to shoot this one!

I like the crisp focus and the contrasting colors. Indeed the little hole adds character and interest to this shot. :)
