The month is January and it is 20 Below Zero. The water in the Columbia River is warmer than the air around it therefore fog. As the fog passes over the very cold trees it forms hoarfrost. I don't know about you but I think it's just a little too cold for a picnic.

Love it! Excellent composition as usual. I like the contrast between the snow and the grey background, and the trees and the fog. Yeah, good contrasts. And very cold too. :) Great photo.

Excellent shot Michael. I certainly miss the beautiful winter scenery but not the freezing temps. Thanks for sharing this. Cheers Al.

Almost other worldly except for the human touch of the picnic table. You don't need a lot of words to get the point across. Excellent!

Not as dramatic as a lot of your work, but this one has an ethereal beauty that sets it apart from most winter shots, and the composition is very pleasing too :-)

Beautiful subtle color here. I am not sure about the composition, I think the tree on the left is a bit close to the edge? It just feels not quite right for some reason. But that's probably just me.

This shot is under-rated. I think it should have a higher index than it has. It looks almost like a model on a table - it's so empty.

i'm just wondering why you kept the blueish tinge in the shadows of the trees? i know it adds to the cold feel, but it seems like its just a little too much. oh well, this is such an amazing shot anyways, i can complain at all

Well, this cooled me off! Beautiful scene - so clear and frosty appearing. The lonely picnic table adds a touch of cheery red. I love how bright the snow is, with the blue shadows. Very COOL image :> 10+

Very beautiful, a little winter wonderland, a reminder of what´s to come. The coldest I can remember it has been where I live was -41*C and the warmest about +34*C.
