On a small patch of ground a wild cherry tree, older than myself, clings precariously to the edge of a 1500 ft drop off into the Columbia River. This old cherry tree is probably about 75 years old and is a remnant of an orchard planted over 100 years ago.

Michael you have a stunning collection of photos and this one is no exception. A wonderful photo. Here in Macon the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World we have Yoshino cherry trees but they only produce blooms. I wish we had the cherries to go with them. Great job.

This photo is so ... I don't know, that it seems to have a message. I'm still trying to figureout what it is, but I just feel that there's one there. Hmmmmmmmm.... Anyway the tree is just superbly framed against the backdrop of the gorge. Lovely, lovely work.

There's something very uplifting about being high up; I often like to think while high up somewhere. I think it has some kind of physio-emotional effect on us, and that sense of optimism is present with great strength in this shot.

I missed this one of yours. it came up on the front page. Love that tree. I get dizzy looking at it. Good thing trees don't have vertigo. Wouldn't like to hear the stories of old it could tell? Love all the colors...the pretty grasses, the blossoms of the tree and the moutains as backdrop. Excellent. Nice work.
