This shot was made in Hells' Canyon on the Idaho side of the Snake River. At this location (Hat Point) the canyon is the deepest canyon in North America. At its deepest it is 7,900 ft (2,400m). As the Snake River flows through it: It divides Oregon and Idaho and as the Snake leaves the canyon, Idaho is at its lowest point above Sea Level - 710ft (216m).

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile. Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

Saddle up pardner, we're going to discover a new land! Just awesome composition and sense of wide open spaces, even without a horizon. Excellent Mike:-)

sweet! I love the setup and the concept, makes ya wonder.. If a wagon is ambushed on the border of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, where do you bury the survivors? :-D 10/10 and into fav's along with your other recent one along with all your other amazing photos :)

Michael, isn't that a lovely wagon? You would rarely see something like that here, and if you did it would be only on display. Oh how I wish I could travel.

YUP I KNEW this was YOU before I even saw your name!! This is an outstanding pic! I was at Hells Canyone a couple years ago...scared out of my mind! Was driving literally on a ridge, and it was SO CLOSE to the "way down" on one side, and mountain on the other...would NOT have been able to meet a car....was totally frightening...Personally, I dont ever wanna go back there!! wow..thought I would never get back home. whew...but this is beautiful! I mean your finding this old vehicle and having the colours...its fantastic!!

Love this photo. Glad you placed the wagon off to the side rather than dead smack in the middle. The photo is very, very well titled. The title says quite a bit in just a few words. Careful thought should be given for the title of a good photo, It can make it or break it.

I'm equally pleased that you chose to shoot the photo other than at eye level. It looks like you got down and shot up at it. That angle really inhanced the wagon.

Great work. Pat

That wagon is pin sharp and the colors really set it apart from the rest of the photo. This is a wonderful shot with great perspective and lighting.

Wow! I love this picture. The old covered wagon adds a lot of feeling to it. It's very beautiful and reminds me to be grateful for all the sacrifices those early pioneers made to blaze new trails across the wild and often dangerous frontier. Putting the wagon off-center was a nice artistic touch. Wow! 10/10
