This statue of Christ represents the love God has for us all. Irregardless of whether you are Christian or not, I don't think anyone can disagree that the world would be a better place with a little more love towards humankind as a whole.

I have a framed lazer print of Brad Wagner's image in my office. A favorite. It appears to be horizontal flipped from your photo of it. The original sculpture by Bertel Thorvaldsen is at the altar of Our Lady - Cathedral of Copenhagen. An interesting accident of the statue can be read at http://www.homilies.net/e/E-03-12-08.asp

Thank you Michael for a desktop image of this. It beats me unframing, scanning, etc. my print. ;)

I love this desktop. That statue is so beautiful... it is the Salt Lake Temple Visitor's Center, right? I have only seen it there, I had no idea about that statue at Copenhagen.
Excellent work, very serene and meaningful. Thank you.

It's a copy of the original by Thorvaldsen in Copenhagen Denmark. It's in the visitors center on Temple Square in Salt Lake City.

I've always loved the Salt Lake Temple Square Area. This is a very inspiring picture and I'm glad I can see it every day on my comp - helps me to make the right choices throughout my day. I'm a mormon (I prefer LDS; for those of you who don't know, the mormons are actually called Latter-Day Saints) and I encourage anyone who's visiting Salt Lake City to visit the Visitor's Center in Temple Square - it's full of peace and beauty. To me, "this is the place"

To know that God's love is open to all. Wow. That is what truly brings peace. To know that all one has to do to have true peace, is to confess their sins and ask Jesus to come live in their hearts. . . That Joy Unspeakable and A Peace and Assurance can be yours. To know that Hell has been Conquered by Jesus One Sacrifice for all, for ever.

To know that Jesus Broke the Chains of Hell and Death. That he will reign Eternally at the right hand of God, and that he offers a home in Heaven to all that believe.

What peace! What Joy! What Unbelievable Love!

Truly that is the kind of love the world needs. Great picture of Jesus, the Son of God, and God in the flesh, reaching out his loving arms of salvation, inviting all to come and believe on Him, and have everlasting life! Amen! That is what the world needs now. Good Job.

Have a great day!

Beautiful picture, I love the angle. I feel like you captured the peace in that room. You must have waited quite a while to get the room all to yourself, it is usually really crowded when I go!

Side note: I'm so glad to see that there are so many other members of the church on here!
