This image was made at the site of the old Horn Rapids dam, on the Yakima River, just outside of Richland Washington. The old wooden structure has been replaced by a new concrete dam that doesn't have any character to it at all. Oh well, looks like I will be looking for something else to photograph after work.

just wondering, do you use an ND filter on stuff like this for such a long exposure (im assuming its somewhere over 10 seconds), or do you just find low light times, and small aperatures?

Love the transition of colors in the water above the falls. Great job as usual.

You found a beautiful group of layers here. And the ouple of roots really add a break in the smooth texture.

Stunning shot, i love the softness of the water flowing, and the roots add a very esthetic touch. It seems like during daylight, but you must have taken it in the evening with a 10s exposure, is it so ? 10+F from me anyway !

Such a great shot, shame about the grey lines, they ruin it for me.
Very good though!

You know when you get a shot like this one that it's going to be a sensation. The colorful waters at the top fading down to the smooth water of the falls and finally to the branch protruding at the bottom - just a fabulous shot. So why the c-index? I don't get it. This looks like a 10 to me.

i dont know why you'd complain about an 87. especially with the new rating system many of the older images dropped quite a bit in c-index. i know one of mine dropped from a full 96-86 within a few weeks

Marvelous shot, the water looks like mercury. It's a shame that the old dam is passing on.
