This little wading bird is stopping over to gain strength to continue on its migratory adventure to its nesting area in the far North. The image was shot in the Malheur National Wild life Refuge in central Oregon.
This is so neat..I get to see so many animals and natural wonders by viewing vicariously through your camera lens!!! What a beauty this bird is....thank you for sharing :))
This is great Michael. I wish I were able to get close to wild birds like this. I guess the BlueJay is as close as I am gunna get, lol. Oh ok, and Robins too, hehe.

I see interresting animals all the time but can't get this close. I guess I'm just a lousy sneak. You must have the nerves and patience of a statue. I keep getting the 'back end running' view. Most of the time, like this little guy here, they are not even paying attention to you.
Great shot, Michael. Not only the bird but the compositon, reflection and how you bring in the surrpunding marsh habitat. And the small ripples around the bird's legs make it really stunning. How close did you get? The shallow DOF makes me think it was a moderately long lens.
Oh the beautiful colours of that birdie! He stands there so royally...I like how you shot this photo with the grasses and then cropped it to add the border, it calls attention to the whole scene. Its very lovely Michael! I had not seen this one before and I love the reflection, to see "two" of him is wonderful..thank you so much my friend.
great shot, one of my favorite... my son saw it and he love the bird, make him happy.. (he just 2,6 years) the colors are fantastic, keep up the good work..
