This is really an interesting study of shape, form and color. An image for an art school.
I particularily like the icy background with all bubbles. Maybe I would have liked to see the leaves a little less colorful and without much of the glow on the edges. Never mind - this is great work, Michael !
Very cool image. I really like all the air bubbles/specks of white on the ice. Looks like you captured some fallen Populus leaves, but from what species I am not sure! Great photo and well done.
"In my mind's eye, I visualize how a particular... sight and feeling will appear on a print. If it excites me, there is a good chance it will make a good photograph. It is an intuitive sense, an ability that comes from a lot of practice."
Ansel Adams
This is a beautiful photograph that I think emphasizes how photography can improve something most of us have seen in person sometime in our lives. Straight to favorites, but more importantly for me.. on my desktop!
beautiful image, nice use of color and texture, it's beautiful how the leaves are trapped in the ice, very nice...21/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was, is lost, for none now live who remember it. -Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring
I wonder why I failed to comment because this image has been very frequently on my desktop since I saw it first time long ago. Also it has been a great inspiration for all the photographs I have been taking since August 2005 [when I got my first camera LOL].
In other words - Michael you have been one of my masters, but I must have told you about it before LOL 10/10 of course !
