This is the 4th collaborative work between Nathan Smith and myself. I think we can all agree that Nathan really knows how to spruce up an image... This building has a rather colorful past. It was a saloon at one time and a house of ill repute another time. It was built in the mid 1800s and still in use until 1932. At that time it was a farmhouse. I caught this fleeting image just as the sun was coming up We hope you enjoy our efforts.

You know, the loneliness brought forth in this whole picture brought a tear to my eye..I am writing a book about the ghost town of Bannack, Montana...and it's the same..I imagine if those little left over home could talk oh my!! You both put together a most marvelous image!! And the shadows of the time of day speak for themselves!! Then the warmth portrayed by the hills...its an amazing photo and framing...soft congratts to both of you!! BRAVO!!!!

Great dawn light. It sort of gives the feeling that the little building has struggled through another night and is leaning toward the warming sun. The wood grain and the title plaque are so real

I take it from the above comments that this would make it the perfect cover for Verena's new book?
Perhaps you three should talk, lol????
Nicely done you two!

what a marvellous team work.. i love these collaborations where the artists combine their skills to produce even more beautiful and stunning images like this one. this little house looks so lonely, over the hills and far away.. :) the lightning is spectacular, i love those shadows and contrasts, they are perfect! this looks like a scene from those old movies with painted background and sceneries.. so idilic and peaceful. nice details as well, but the lightning fascinates me the most!

and the framing is excellent.. those red shades look like curtains and the little house is like an actor on the stage, ready to tell us its story... this image deserves my favourites and highest marks.
if only it could talk.. and it makes me wonder.. :)

absolutely amazing work.. have a great day, both of you! and thank you for your collaborations :)

This is an excellent image. Nice colors and has a very "lonely" atmosphere to it. Personally I don't care for the framing. Although it is well done, I think that it distracts from the image too much. I believe in keeping things simple, but then again, it might just be me!

I find this to ba an intriguing and exceptional art-work; the subject itself-simple enouigh-is rendered with affection and skill and I admire the use of mood, tone and composition; I am assuming you could have chosen any ole' angle, lighting etc...you did not and this photo speaks well to your craft..........Bravo! Into my favorites
