This young doe is looking for a handout of an apple from my wife. The deer around Lake Wallowa State Park in North Eastern Oregon are quite tame. Probably too tame for their own good. In the fall when the tourists leave for the year, they have all but forgotten how to forage for themselves. But I ask you, honestly, could you say no to this cute animal?

This is young, so very young. I wouldn't be able to resist either. In fact if something this beautiful and wild followed me around I think I'd have to give everything up and move into the campsite.

Well ... I'd give an apple, sure ... but I'd admonish it with a stern lecture ... and check who it chats with on the internet

This is a beautiful shot, I love the lighting...in the enlarged image the grass seems almost smudged which gives it a surreal feel...and what a GORGEOUS little creature!!!!

Good heavens, look at those ears. The rest of him better hurry up and catch up. Look at the expression on that little animal's face. What does it say" "Hello there. Is that an apple you have? Oh thankyou for your kindness"...or something like that.
Could we say no to this animal? Most of us probably couldn't but we should...if we want him around to photograph again!!!

Coming from a part of Oregon where such things are considered a pest... I still enjoy the picture. I'm planning my own photo trip to Wallowa lake and La Grande/Union/Baker this summer, maybe I can get a picture of the same one! :)
