Hurricane Ridge is located in the Olympic National Park within the Olympic Peninsula, in the State of Washington. Hurricane Ridge offers some of the most spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains, within the park. One of my favorite images taken from the same meadow is a shot of a buck deer watching a fly flittering right in front of his nose. Both animals are backlit making a slight halo effect around their silhouettes. I hope I can find that one, I think everyone would really enjoy it.

I hope you can find the other one too. As for this one, I love fog when it's so thick you can see the cloud formation. A beautiful set of layers.

This is really different. Such stark contrasts throughout the composition and what is making the photo stand out as a unique presentation.

I got shivers, not from cold...either....when I first say this! SUCH beauty..but the beauty is mostly due to the WAY you were able to take this photo! The picture is like in four distinct sections...and they merge so beautifully...kind of like a painting...first the earth touches the trees, the trees reach out to the sky and yet we get a bonus by the mountains crowning the whole thing! Your photography is truly aweinspiring my friend!.........

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings: And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not. Yet so the universe was wrought . Thought is another name for fate. Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.

Never knowing. Shocking but we're nothing, we're just moments. We're clever but we're clueless, we're just human. Amusing but confusing. We're trying, but where is this all leading? Never Know. -Jack Johnson

Seven distinct layers, Michael. This is perhaps your best so far. Any one element could have been missing here and it would have been excellent - the fog, the sunlight, the snow, but taken together it's spooky. So much grace should not be in one place.

Wow! I love it! The framing, the distinct layers in the photograph itself, the coloring, everything! It's going in my favs and on my desktop (as soon as my Harry Potter countdown is over :-P)

I love Hurricane Ridge. And I love this picture! The bands of color are particularly effective. I suppose if it were up to me, I'd have liked a narrower band of clouds and a little more of the green. But that's probably something you couldn't have changed! I do really like the way the mountain peaks are mirrored by the peak of trees on the bottom of the photo. Overall, really great job!

Stunning image. The mountains look like they have marshmellow cream on them. This looks like a painting- and I like the framing very much. Wonderful, beautiful work!
