I was just thinking about winter the other day and I ran across this image I shot last year. Enjoy and remember: That glorious time of year is just about upon us, that is for those of us in the northern parts of the world. For those of you in the southern part: You get to shoot flowers and stay warm. Hmmm

Beautiful image. I think it would make a better -desktop- without the border, but as an artistic image it is probably nicer with the border.

Hi Michael, this has a very magical feel to it, very nice piece. I agree with Samatar about the border i'd prefer it without. This is still going to be my next desktop Cheers Al.

The beer urges me on, the bewitching beer, which sets even a wise man to singing and to laughing gently and rouses him up to dance and brings forth words which were better unspoken. Homer, The Odyssey (note: beer substituted for wine)

It's like one of the fractal images, but done by nature! What a great capture - especially the composition. This would make a beautiful image for a wall; there is so much to see in it. Thank you for sharing it :-)

It's not often we get to see an abstract in nature shot from you. The colors and patterns you found in this are exceptional. It certainly can stand alone without a border for wallpaper use as it all blends so beautifully. Either way is fine with me. Still going to my favs. ;)

Very abstract. It has the feel of an oil-painting.
The colours are beautiful.

It almost looks like layers of quartz or crystal. Or even a space image of a far off nebula. Lovely way to fill a frame

I love ice...it's amazing what happens when water freezes. To paraphrase the remark you left for me, I like abstractions and I like this shot. Straight to favs.

I know its an oldish image but I just had to comment on this perfect slice of nature that you have captured. Its truly incredible and beautiful. I always find it interesting how things appear so similar on the micro and macro levels. Glancing quickly at it, the cracks and craters could make the image appear like a satalite image of another planet like one of Jupiter's moons, Europa or Ganymede. Sorry for that little tangent, just bowled over by the sheer beauty. Keep up the fantastic work, mate.

Did you find this as is or did you create some of the lines, cracks and breaks? Regardless, it's a beautiful image. Nicely done.
