I was on the Bremerton - Seattle Ferry last October when this sail boat wanted to race. There were quite a few out that day and they were fun to watch and photograph.
ahhhhh......lovely memories that you have brought to my mind Michael. When I was on the ferry to the Olympic Peninsula, I saw the sailboats with the sparkling water as their carpet and the mountains as the perfect backdrop. I remember it as if it were yesterday! this capture refreshed for me all of the beauty that I saw when I was in your neck of the woods. Great clarity, composition and color here. thanks for sharing :=) right to my favorites!!
I think what I love most in this exquisite photo are the blues, the way they compliment each other by not only their colour but by their shape..the way the mountains are that smokey blue against the sharp robins egg blue...and all of them being "above" the wonderful blue of Puget Sound. And then the starkness of the white sails...By the way, the red border is just a perfect touch to capture the slight red on the sails...A most
beautiful photo Michael. Verena
well my first, selfish, thought was hmmmm any shells out there. my second and others were about the scene....idyllic. it's a pretty big boat, the race would have been fun to watch. beautiful shot, michael.
I can feel your excitement as this sailboat was trying to race with the ferry. The surrounding scenery really sets off the sailboat nicely. Excellent shot Michael.
Hey, Michael! I saw this in the VB and wanted you to know this was one of the best photos I have seen in a long time. '10' from me. Beautiful job on the lighting on the boat. Lovely color in the water. Nice framing. Terrific job.
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.
