The town of Bregenz is located on the Austrian Bodensee (Lake Constance) close to the four-border corner of Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The roots of this capital of Vorarlberg can be found in Roman times. Today, Bregenz is home to around 27,000 people. With its location on the Bodensee and in the Alps it has bi-seasonal tourism with around 230,000 people from all around the world staying in the town. The biggest cultural event is the Bregenz Festival in the summer, with operas and plays, held on a stage build on the Bodensee itself. You must see this video to understand this picture

A great video and your shot is so well taken Doc. I am now more familiar with Marat and his plight.
What time is the next show?

Wow, what a lavish and elaborate presentation and opera. It makes being in an operatic performance look like it could be a dangerous undertaking. One could land in the water below. Such a good shot of the statue of Marat and all the staging that goes with him. Thank you for the image and the link to that amazing video.

What a photo and what a stage! I watched the video and really, the whole thing is beyond my comprehension. Opera and I don't mix well to begin with, and this sped past me like a comet streaking across the sky. Awesome it is.

Your fine image intrigued me and then the video just blew me away - what a set - it is magnificent.
The composer could never have imagined such a thing, any more than Chenier would have imagined he would be imortalized in an opera. Thanks for a wonderful post !
