O this is gorgeous! Adds a new twist to the Clematis! The black and white really brings out the texture of the flower...I like it alot! High marks from me and keep up the great work!

This is by far the best flower background I've seen on here in a long time. The texture is hauntingly beautiful. An excellent twist.

Great work. I love the detail you caught, and the grayscale just makes it extra-special. Fantastic!

This is beautiful. But for me black and white on a flower seems a bit sad. After all, its the colours of flowers that makes us love them so ! But it's still a well composed photo.

Ummmm:
I'm sorry but I have to disagree with Verena on this one (it’s not very often that I disagree with her, she is very discernable, has a very good eye and excellent taste).
B&W images have to rely on the image itself and not hide behind color to make it an excellent image. If you take the color away from an image and it's as strong or stronger then you have captured all the qualities of a truly great image. Of course there are images that are dependant on color because that is one of the themes. I think that flower images don't need color to be of interest, it can all be about texture, form and style. I use the B&W test as a litmus test, if you will on, most of my images. I use Photoshop to make it B&W and see if it still stands up. This image is one of those that stands very well alone and without color.
Never underestimate the power of Black and White.
By the way: GREAT image. 10 by me, in my favorites and on my desktop for this week.

I know this is a late comment. But I think this is lovely.

So lovely, in fact, I think you should enter it in that Black and White photo contest.

You had a pretty picture, you had a pretty smile, you had a heart of ice and you put me in denial. You broke my heart a thousand times, you broke my heart just once, you made me see all i need is me and not some stupid... girl.
