My Self-Portrait/Study. "..an accurate definition of the self is impossible. You are more than you realize, more than you can define. And the more time you spend trying to nail down the definition, the less time you spend living right now. ... Your past is not your identity... You, living now, is your identity."--George Lawrence-Ell (The Invisible Clock) Enjoy and please give me some tips and feedback.

The quote fits the picture very well. There is much more to you than the composition allows us to see. The darkness and your hands conceal half of what defines you. Leaving a desire to see and learn more.

The face conveys both vulnerability and a Dieu defend le droit image to me.

I wonder if the finger placements have any symbolic meanings or were they spaced unintentionally. The gaze upward, into the light, gives me the feeling of hope.

Not that it matters but I also wonder if you were the model in Je pense toujours a vous. Enough of you is hidden in this picture that when making the comparison I find it challenging to be sure.

I do like what you have done with the lighting and shadowing and look forward to seeing more of your work. ~~ John

In my perspective I would have filtered out with with Portraiture which would offset transition from light to darkness more smoothly.
Portraiture is featured for magazine/professional portrait.
Excellent exercise anyway.
Congrats.

Very nice and very beautiful! It's a good idea that you left your eye open for the lens to see in a way that you want to cover up your face for some meaning (I'm not expert in literature :P ). Very good portrait Shot!
