There is a mystery on the function of excrescences, very visible on three different stones. Some say that they served for the alignment of the wall. But it is illogical, because we don't recover some to every corner of wall. There is an esoteric significance that nobody understand...

By 'excrescences' you mean the bumps on the lower parts of those stones. You'll have to excuss me, but that isn't a word I use everyday. ;-)

Amazing. I wonder how many people appreciate what a mystery it is that these rocks were cut to fit exactly, without modern tools, were assembled using no mortar and brought to the the top of a mountain to create a whole fortified town. Good pic too! ;)
