Well I think I've found out what castle this is. Kilchurn Castle at the head of Loch Awe. http://www.caledoniancastles.co.uk/castles/strathclyde/kilchurn.htm for more info. See if you agree with me.
A very beautiful photograph. All you offerings are so fabulous that it's hard to think about rating them. The most beautiful images on the internet, as far as I've seen.
Another great shot, thanks :) Is there any chance you could post them with a little less compression? Its a shame for such good images to suffer pixelation.
BTW Twisted Warrior, Edinburgh castle is at the top of a steep hill in the centre of Edinburgh city centre :)
I know this now. Every man gives his life for what he believes. Every woman gives her life for what she believes. Sometimes people believe in little or nothing yet they give their lives to that little or nothing. One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. And then it is gone. But to sacrifice what you are and live without belief, that's more terrible than dying.
Joan of Arc
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man less, but Nature more
--Lord Byron
I actually have several pictures of this castle from my trip to Ireland last year...mine don't look nearly as nice. :-P You must be extremely well traveled...having seen the rest of your portfolio.
So lovely. The mountain movement is perfectly established by the ruin. And, the ruin asks a question. I wish the wretched fence were not in the front, but, then, again, the fence makes for more depth. Gorgeous colors. You are good!
A monk asked, “The mountains, the rivers, and the great earth-from where did all of these things come forth?”
Tiantai said, “From where did this question come forth?”

Kilchurn Castle is the Campbell stronghhold on Loch Awe, in Glen Coe (Glencoe). That is the pap of Glencoe in the background. One of the few castles in Scotland that is almost devoid of tourists and to get there you walk through a sheep pasture and onto the penninsula. Grand place, nice shot.
